Frequently Asked Questions

1/ Do you work with children?

There are lots of spaces in the horse world for kids to learn and grow...this one's for the grown ups. Please note, we understand that people like to share their experiences with family & friends, which is why we offer Open Farm hours for all ages to visit the horses on the 1st Sunday of every month.

2/ Who do you work with?

Our programs are designed for adolescents & adults who are seeking a new way to explore health & wellness in an environment that also fosters their love for horses. Our practitioners have a wide range of training and experience to support trauma-informed learning and work with both neurotypical & neurodivergent populations. To see if our programs are a good fit for you please schedule a private consultation.

Please note: A mental health diagnosis or former experience with horses are not required to participate in our programs. Equine-inspired learning is not therapy; however, it can greatly improve symptoms of common mental health struggles. If you are currently seeing a traditional talk therapist or doctor our practitioners are happy to connect with them to offer you the most support possible.

3 / Do I have to have horse experience to participate?

Nope! Whether the closest you've ever been to a horse is those calendar images hanging on your wall, or you have decades of experience, all are welcome here. Caveat, for seasoned horse lovers; some of our practices are a bit unconventional and challenge "traditional" methods, so an open mind and willing heart are required here.

4/ What should I wear?

Dress for the weather and be prepared to get a little dirty. In warm temps, loose, light clothing and sun protection will be most comfortable. Layers will be your best friend in the colder winter months. Closed toe shoes are required to enter any areas with the horses.

5/ Where do I park?

When you arrive, there is a gravel parking lot located on the left-hand side of the driveway. Please park in this lot and follow the driveway up to the barn. If there is another class or session going on when you arrive, there is seating around the firepit available while you wait. To our participants with mobility issues; please feel free to pull all the way up to the top of the driveway to park for easier access to the barn.

6/ What about crappy weather?

We run programs year-round. Most classes will run during inclement weather like rain or light snow as we can move our learning inside to the barn. In the event that travel conditions are dangerous or temperatures are unsafe we will cancel. Any registered participants will be notified via email in the event of a cancellation. Major program changes will updated on our social media and email list.

7 / Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance for any of our programs; however, if your place of employment offers an HSA/FSA plan this can usually be used to cover our private wellness program.

8 / Do you offer riding lessons?

We do not offer any riding opportunities at our farm. All of our horses come from rescue & retirement backgrounds and are not able to perform in lesson programs anymore. This space is as much an opportunity for them to find their voice as it is yours.

9/ Do you offer internship opportunities?

Occasionally we have the rare availability to work with students in varying internship capacities. Join our email list to be the first to know about upcoming opportunities.

10/ Can I volunteer?

Because of the unique way we manage and care for our horses, and the importance of respecting the privacy and comfortability of our clients, volunteer opportunities are reserved for those who have completed either our Level 1 Horsemanship course or our 12-week private coaching program.

11/ Where are you located?

Our farm is located on a tiny slice of heaven, tucked along a land trust in beautiful Cumberland, RI. You'd never believe such a gem is only 20 minutes north of Providence and 60 minutes south of Boston. Easy airport access from anywhere in the world! Don't forget to pop in for a class or book your own private experience on your next trip to stunning New England.

12/ Can I move in with you?

We know it's awesome here and we wish we could share this space with you all of the time, unfortunately, we don't have the acreage for extra roommates. Our hope is that in this space you find magic & inspiration to build a dream all your own.
